Overlapping glazes can create supplementary angles on a project. This plate is approximately 10 inches in diameter and .75 inches tall. It was thrown on the wheel and has a triple footring. The plate is glazed turquoise and shadow green. The plate was dipped in turquoise, rotated 110 degrees, and dipped again. The shadow green was dipped so that three supplementary angles are formed. Where the turquoise overlapped with the shadow green, a teal color was created. When projects are dipped in glazes, the staight lines that are created reflect mathematical concepts, especially on flat surfaces such as for plates.

Concentric circles add a uniformity to projects if they trace the form of the piece. This is a porcelain plate , 10 inches be .75 inches. It is one of the first attempts working with porcelain and its thickness reflects this. The circles where drawn with blue stain while the plate was slowly spinning on the wheel. The plate was then dipped in clear glaze. The uniformity of the plate's shape is further accentuated with the stain concentric circles.
